If we ever cancel The Last Guardian we'll tell you, Sony's Yoshida promises

Polygon : "It's not just the long wait that drives these rumors, the game has run into some significant issues, including the departure of producer Fumito Ueda as a full-time employee at Sony. He does remain on the project as a consultant, but the story of the game's creation remains deeply hidden. So when I wrapped up my interview with Sony worldwide studios head Shuhei Yoshida with one more question, Yoshida knew what was coming. "It exists. The team is working hard on it," he intoned almost rhythmically. "I was heartbroken when some article came out on some major site saying it was canceled."

Shuhei Yoshida maintains the game is still in development and "the team is working hard on it".

"It exists. The team is working hard on it," Yoshida told Polygon, "I was heartbroken when some article came out on some major site saying it was cancelled."

Yoshida affirms that, should any title be cancelled, the company will say as such.

"I will say this," he adds, "When we cancel a title and it is something we have announced already, we'll say so.

"It's a highly anticipated title, we have to do so."

The Last Guardian was a no-show at this year's E3, so if it is to come out, you'd hope that Studio Japan will have something to show sooner rather...

CraveOnline: "It was only days ago that IGN fooled the gaming community into thinking The Last Guardian was canceled. It wasn't all that surprising, but it also wasn't true. So where is The Last Guardian? Well, it's somewhere, but whatever it's like Sony isn't ready to raise the curtain. Sony's Shuhei Yoshida spoke to Eurogamer about the state of the game, offering only a vague glimpse into what's going on, and really, it doesn't sound all that positive."

An opinion piece via EGMR that looks at the minor discrepancies prevalent at E3 2014, as well as the real target market which forms the reason so many games comprised either guns, sports or driving. Quote: "It was a long evening sitting through the various press conferences from the likes of Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and Sony. But it would seem that E3 2014 is a runaway success filled with a lot games we want and the proper justice being done to gamers. If you excuse the complete lack of anything Beyond Good Evil 2, I suppose. Also theres that Last Guardian thing the Sony fanboys keep crying about, but the less said about that, the better."

Why do we care so much about The Last Guardian?

Added: 10.06.2014 13:14 | 6 views | 0 comments

Polygon: The Last Guardian was announced at E3 2009, and since then we've all been waiting for it to actually get released. Yet somehow with every passing year the chances that it will actually get released seem to get worse and worse, but Sony keeps saying it's still in development. So why are so many people still attached to this game that we don't really know anything about?
